Hotel Indigo, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

I was mightily impressed with the service, standards & professionalism of the staff of hotel!
Hotel Indigo is situated right next to Central Park in Kaohsiung, and an MRT station is just in front which provides easy access to the High Speed Rail station. This hotel is conveniently located for visitors arriving with the HSR, and then a few stops on the subway ~ total of 15min to get to the hotel.
The hotel commands a second look from passersby, the building stands out between the surrounding buildings and has a new, modern and contemporary look.
The lobby is big and spacious, with a small coffee shop/restaurant tucked into the back corner.
The staff was very friendly, talkative and efficient in taking care of the check in process. Joanna Chen helped me and she was very charming, friendly and sincere ~ a definite attribute for the hotel greeting guests and making them feel welcome.
The room are spacious with a modern & trendy decor. The rooms are equipped with all the normal amenities preferred in a room such as mini fridge, safety box, drinking water, desk with stationary, wifi, and toiletries.
I feel it is also worth a mention that the coffee machine is Nespresso with 3 capsules and the toiletries are the famous Thai brand Thann.
Another thing that I love, is that instead of providing the normal small bar of soap for washing hands, a bigger bar of soap is provided, as well as a sealable plastic bag so that guests can take the soap when they leave. The soaps smell really nice and good quality, which prevents the usual small little soaps from being wasted and recycled after being used once or twice.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the second floor ~ we stayed here during the time of COVID-19 and when we were there it was quiet & not crowded, just the way I like it!
There is a good and wide selection of Western & local Asian dishes available - some of it is made to order and service is quick, and some of it presented & served in very interesting ways.
The rooftop bar provides stunning view over the city, as well as of the sunset, so I recommend to make an effort to enjoy a sundowner at least once up there to appreciate the views!
All in all, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this hotel, the staff and the quality & level of service and I highly recommend considering staying here when visiting the south of Taiwan.
