U Nimman, Chiang Mai, Thailand

This is such a nice, new, modern & trendy hotel in Chiang Mai ~ perfect for a few lazy days of relaxation, shopping, eating and massages!
The hotel is located about 10min by taxi from the Chiang Mai International airport and not exactly in the old city centre of Chiang Mai, but still downtown and surrounded by a few shopping malls, numerous local restaurants & Thai massage spas.
The new Nimman One shopping center is right next to the hotel - basically aimed at tourists so not necessarily cheap, but a great place to walk around and get some cool pictures and some nice food at their trendy food court.
It is a brand new hotel & building and only open for 1 year - so most of the facilities are still new & in great condition.
The lobby is big and open with a lot of seating area for guests, with a bar and also a travel desk. And it goes without saying that the lobby is fragrant and smells great when one walks in through the front doors.
There are 2 sets of elevators going up to the rooms - so it depends on the room number which elevator should be used ~ our room was on the 6th floor so we used the elevators adjacent to the restaurant where breakfast is served.
The rooms are big and spacious and our room was decorated in various shades of blue. The bed is huge and comfortable, the rain shower is big as well as sporting a seating area within the shower, a big daybed is situated by the window and a desk and table is also available.
The rooms are equipped with all the basics like a good selection of toiletries, a safety deposit box, a stocked mini bar, daily free water and a TV with quite a few channels.
On the 5th floor is the rooftop swimming pool with a few deck chairs to relax and get some sun, as well as the exercise & workout room, along with the pool bar serving food and drinks.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the ground floor which serves a wide and good selection of Western & Asian dishes and also has indoor and some outdoor seating available. At this same restaurant they also serve a buffet dinner which is very affordably priced which is really good value for money - and actually quite tasty as well! This is however only on certain days of the week, not every day, so best to check and confirm with the hotel exactly when it is available.
I quit like this hotel and their friendly and helpful staff, high standards and service, and comfort & convenience. I just want to mention again that almost all staff speak is capable to communicate excellently in English and their level of customer service is also great, as is fitting of a 5 star hotel.
It is a pity though that the Chinese tourists have discovered and infected it already, which can take away from the overall tranquility and peace that guests look for in a hotel like this.
