Premier Inn St Pancras, London, UK
This hotel is great value for money with an excellent location.
It is situated across the street from St Pancras International station & Kings Cross St Pancras underground station in Kings Cross neighborhood of London. It is just a few minutes walk from either stations, but make sure to go to the correct hotel, because there are two Premier Inn hotels a stone’s throw from each other.
There are quite a few interesting places and shops within walking distance from the hotel, and what I loved more than using the underground, was using an Oyster card and Google maps to take the buses. It provides a good view of daily life in London and pretty quick and efficient to move around the city.
The reception, check in counter, bar and restaurant are all located on the first floor - with the ground floor just a big open space lobby.
I unfortunately cannot remember the girl’s name - but I know she is Italian - helped us with the check in process and she was a star ~ friendly, patient and very helpful!
We made our way up to the room - it seems like the hotel stretches out through a few buildings, our room was at the end, which means it is a bit of a walk down the corridor.
The rooms are acceptable size - not particularly big and spacious, but sufficient for a few nights stay. The bathroom reminded me of the type used in Japanese hotels - it seems like one big unit plopped into the room containing a toilet, sink and shower ~ as well as a shower gel and shampoo dispenser in the shower.
The rooms are not equipped with a fridge or room safe, but valuables can be stored at the front desk in the safe.
We had dinner one night at the restaurant on the second floor, the food was acceptable, but I was not that impressed with the service… We approached what seemed to be the manager who handled the seating, we did not have a reservation and were asked to come back 45 minutes later ~ with four empty tables in sight behind him ~ and when we came back later ~ we were seated at one of these empty tables…..
This is a simple hotel providing affordable accommodation with a smile - great for people on a budget!
