Novotel München City Arnulfpark, Munich, Germany

I like this hotel! I like the feel and ambience, the friendly & welcoming staff, the good & quick service at the front desk, the new building and modern facilities, the comfort of the rooms and the nice little coffee shops and restaurant area on the ground floor. This is definitely one of my favorite hotels now!

It was such a relief stepping into the lobby from the very cold breeze outside - almost felt like getting a hug from the hotel ….
The front desk personnel was really friendly & helpful and answered questions & gave suggestions with a smile.
We made our way up to the room - it was on the first floor and towards the back of the building - this floor also has group meetings and seminar facilities, so it looked a bit dark stepping out from the elevator. The workout area and steam room are also located on this floor.
The rooms are new and modern with a pleasing color scheme and design. It has all the basics that travelers would like, including a safety deposit box, stocked minibar, coffee & tea facilities and a nice big wardrobe to hang thick and bulky coats and jackets.
The bathroom is nice and big, stylishly decorated and stocked all the toiletries and amenities needed, most importantly, a bathtub to help against the cold!
The breakfast is great and tasty, with a decent selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads & rolls, hot food, a coffee machine that served delicious macchiatos, fruits, yoghurt, juices ~ basically a very nice European breakfast. I have one small issue though….. by the fourth morning, my excitement started to wane, since it is the same selection every morning. I would rather remove a few things from the daily selection and then rotate it so that there is a bit of variety from day to day.
There is however one possible negative counting against this great hotel ~ the location.
It is not very close to the main station or old town area - yes, it can be walked, but I think generally the location might be a factor for travelers.
It is about a good 15min walk from the main station and with baggage it is not a pleasant walk. There is however a tram stop close by and about 3 stops to get to main station. Day & group tickets can be purchased at the concierge, but when we were there the prices had just gone up, and they did not have any of the new tickets in stock yet.
Despite the location, I would highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable stay in Munich ~ look at the walk to the city center as a way to make up for the big and filling breakfasts!
