Siam@Siam Design Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand
I have stayed at this hotel twice so far, and I am still very much impressed and satisfied with the standards and service! I almost want to go as far as saying that at the moment ~ this is my favourite hotel in Bangkok!
The check in process does not take place in the lobby on the ground floor, but on one of the higher floors (I think the 11th floor).
One thing I want to mention is that the check during my last stay took a bit long - like really long compared to general check in procedures (might have been because we requested a room close to family that checked in the day before).
We stayed in the Leisure class double room, which is a decent size and big & spacious enough for 2 people.
A previous time we stayed in a Youth Class room with 3 single beds and these rooms were really big and spacious - with a bathroom just as big and spacious.
The room amenities are the standard that I expect in a room: mini fridge, bathroom toiletries and an safety deposit box.
The hotel facilities include a restaurant, bar and small sushi bar downstairs, an outside infinity pool with lounge area and small bar and then of course a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the city and sunset.
The breakfast offers an acceptable selection of Western and Asian food, juices, baked breads, hot foods, cereals, cold meats and an egg station offering a variety of ways in which eggs are prepared to order.
The BTS station is a 5 min walk away - and all the major shopping malls are a 10 min walk straight down the road ~ the Sukhumvit area where once you reach the first mall - they are all interconnected from there on onward so not even necessary to walk outside in the heat.
Silom and Patpong area is a quick 3 stops away on the BTS and a Lotus supermarket next to the hotel.
I like this hotel for the good and efficient service, good quality & standards and great location ~ and all of this at a very reasonable price!
I like the look and design of the hotel - modern and trendy with an industrial theme - and from the moment that one walks in the front door everyone is friendly and helpful.
